It's a long holiday this week so we decided to go back to my hubby's hometown in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. It was a long and tiring journey for "balik kampung" but the kids were very excited to meet grandma (it took us about 10 hours of driving from KL). I think my husband was far more excited than the kids as every streets and many places there remind him of his childhood time (for the umpteenth time he announced that he went to that school everytime we pass by the primary school near his house).
The food here are so good that I lost count of my calory intake. I can't think of anywhere else to go with the kids in Kota Bharu except the beaches where we had a good time flying a kite. We managed to catch a glimpse at a bird competition held in Kota Bharu after we had our breakfast at our favorite stall. We visited a couple of buddhist temples with gigantic statue of buddha which show the trails of influence from Thailand in Kelantan.
