Safari Teddy and Friends

A few weeks ago, we did our bit for charity. It's an annual event organised by Suria KLCC and this year, the proceeds raised from tickets sold (RM35/child) were donated to the National Autism Society for Malaysia. The event required every kids to bring along their favorites plush toys. But my son was too shy to bring along his mr.teddy so I had to carry mr. teddy for him (hmmm.. a 7-year old boy like my son thinks that holding a teddy in public is a girl thing).

Thanks to all the sponsors as the kids received goodie bags upon entry. Prizes were also given out to the winners of coloring contest and treasure hunt. Some families who were lucky enough brought home some prizes from the lucky draw.

My kids had so much fun during the day out(unfortunately my youngest unable to join due to chicken pox that she had to be quarantine at home).

Let's do a Good Deed!

Last year I brought my kids to the Teddy and Friends Day Out organised by Suria KLCC held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Funds raised from the tickets sold were donated to Persatuan Sokongan Ibu dan Anak Kurang Upaya (AZWAR).
The kids enjoyed some exciting activities during the day out where we participated in the scavenger hunt, colouring contest and enjoying some carnival games.

This year, Suria KLCC is organising another Teddy and Friends Day Out where this time the proceeds will be donated to the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM).

Definitely I will get the tickets for this year's event.
Let's join us.
It is the least we could do for a good deed.

Toys for Donation

My kids love toys and over the years they have accumulated a lot of toys that we bought for them and some are birthday presents from family and friends.

I notice that they only play with their few favourite toys but the rest are dumped into the toy baskets and some are just lying on the floor or being kicked away under the bed.

This month, volunteers team of my workplace is collecting donated toys from the staff. This is in support of Buddies of Ipoh, an NGO that works with families affected by HIV. They aim to distribute toys to the children of such families in conjunction with their annual Family Day Outing with the HIV families in June this year.

I take this opportunity to donate some of my children's toys (of course I did this with the permission of my kids and fortunately they agreed).
I hope these toys would bring smiles to those unfortunate kids.
